Founder and Chief Executive Officer
As AXIOS Industrial’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Pete Vrettakos is responsible for driving the company’s strategic growth and expansion journey into new and related markets. He formed AXIOS in 2017 with White Deer Energy, a private equity fund manager specializing in oil and gas and other energy-related investments.
Vrettakos began his career in 1980, when he formed Atlantic Scaffolding in Baltimore, Md. He grew the business from a single scaffold crew to a company with more than 1900 employees in 24 states and Puerto Rico, and revenues of $230 million in 2008. Prior to founding AXIOS, Vrettakos incorporated Structural Access Services, the predecessor to Brace Industrial Group, in 2011.
Vrettakos is a pioneering voice in scaffold safety. A member of the Scaffold and Access Industry Association (SAIA) since 1980, he has held various roles, including Vice President, Strategy Committee Chairman, Board Member and Executive Committee Member. Vrettakos has also served on the board of the Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund, a nonprofit that helps fund early-stage business ventures, and was Chairman of Brace Industrial’s Board until 2015.
Vrettakos was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the Baltimore area. He currently resides in Houston.
Executive Vice President
Vice President of Administration
Ms. McMakin is a native of Baton Rouge, LA. and currently serves as Vice President of Administration for AXIOS Industrial Group. She has been involved in Contractor Industrial Services for over 12 years.
Ms. McMakin is an accomplished professional, experienced in spearheading billing process improvements, collection efforts, and system implementations. She has been highly effective in improving underperforming operations, establishing controls, and improving labor efficiencies throughout her career.
Ms. McMakin graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Director of Human Resources
Andrea Motley is currently Director of Human Resources for AXIOS Industrial Group. In this role, she leads the HR team in reinforcing strong company culture, creating and leading large-scale employee engagement and development programs, and implementing reward and talent management strategies that support the achievement of business goals and objectives.
Prior to joining AXIOS, Andrea served as VP, Human Resources and Director and Head of Human Resources for Partner Industrial and Brace Industrial Group, respectively.
Andrea is a native Texan and proud University of Houston alumna. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, an MBA in Human Resources,a Senior Professional Certification (SHRM-SCP), and Work Life Certified Professional (WLCP) designations.
Senior Construction Manager
Keith comes to the AXIOS team having 3 decades of experience in management, overseeing a diversity of construction disciplines, in all facets of construction and maintenance venues.
As AXIOS’ Senior Construction Manager, Keith will employ his expertise in building, developing, and leading multidiscipline teams. While serving as AXIOS’ subject matter expert in scaffolding design and erection.
Throughout his career, Keith has held vital management positions with Atlantic Scaffolding, The Brock Group, HydrochemPSC, and Turner Industries. Managing both soft and hard crafts. Before joining AXIOS in 2018; Keith’s’ tenure at Atlantic Scaffolding was crucial in their growth and success. After the acquisition of Atlantic Scaffolding, he continued in a senior management role with The Brock Group until May 2017.
Keith holds a B.S. in Business Management from Charter University.
A lifelong resident of Walker, La., Keith will operate out of the AXIOS headquarters located in The Woodlands, Texas.
